We got in a super cool original 1979 Galaxian arcade game, with the cool Electrohome G02 25″ monitor… and filmed a little video of it for you.

See all our other games for sale, right now, at !

Lyons Arcade buys and sells classic arcade games and pinball machines in our showroom and shop in downtown Rock Hill, SC. We typically keep in stock between 40 and 50 arcade games and pinball machines, and from time to time have a jukebox or two for sale.

Our store is located at 139 Caldwell St., Rock Hill, SC 29730. We also function as a vintage video game store! We sell all the classic Nintendo, Sega, Atari, Sony, and Microsoft games and systems.

Our videos on our channel are videos we shoot after finishing up our games for sale; we test play them and take pictures and video of how they turned out. We then use the pictures to advertise the games for sale, and upload the video to this channel on youtube!

What this means is that sometimes our videos show games that have actually already sold!

  1. I could score around 30000. Watched someone play once and he was on 150000 with around 6 lives remaining and were they swarming down. After a while I left him to it but I'm sure he could have gone on forever.

  2. Enjoyed your video. Great job as always. Ive heard of the 25 inch version but have never seen one. Thats a very cool piece of history! By the way that game isn't the standard Bally Midway ROM set. Something is very different with the ROMs or game board!

  3. FIrst time I've heard of the 25" version! I own a 19" Galaxian. Great video. Thanks for sharing this rare piece of arcade history!

  4. Awesome looking classic game, I wish there was one available like this here in Spain. Never seen a 25" wow

  5. I have an original Galaga. Could a 25” monitor fit in a normal 19? Is just the bezel art different? I enjoy your videos.

  6. I can hold my on in Galaga but not Galaxain. I think yours is set on a difficult level? That thing needs a rapid 🔥 mod 😁

  7. Wow..Great history them using the 25" monitors from Sea Wolf 2 ! So cool to see 25" inch in it! I saw a few of these BITD!

  8. Thanks for making these videos . If I'm in your area I'll be sure to stop and check out what you have available.

  9. Nice cab! The PCB is definitely not original and is a hack of Galaxian. Not too sure, but I think it's Super Galaxian you have. Check it out in MAME. Neither of the two official versions play like this. I'm the Twin Galaxies World record holder on this, so I've seen enough of it to know the difference.

  10. Good morning, I would like to know if you have a Galaxian control panel ?

  11. galaxian is release in 1979 by namco and listed too midmay in 1980

  12. Is The Joystick 2 Way, Or 4 Way?

  13. I also have a Galaxian cabinet with 25" monitor. Unfortunately it is "Out of Order".. Any advice on how to work on one of these without electrocuting myself? Lol.

  14. Loved Galaxian! Had a mini version back in the day. Very cool find!

  15. HEY YOU DUMB ALIENS that is revenge on your boss you stupid aliens

  17. You have to remember these things were designed to take our money and get us off as quickly as possible. Unlike the home console era shortly after, which was the entire opposite concept.

  18. Galaxian came out in Japan in October, 1979, and it came out in the US two months later.

  19. Probably the most advanced game of the 70s. A true classic. Even though Galaga is better in basically every way, it's awesome to see where franchises begin.

  20. In the summer of 1980 I was in a video game arcade in the US when suddenly my eyes fell upon a stunning Galaxian game. It was love at first sight. During the late 70s I had liked playing Space Invaders alright, but I knew right away I was going to like Galaxian better the minute I saw it. S Invaders had those 2 awkward buttons for moving left & right. Galax had the simple joy stick – much better for dodging. Also there is something great about how the Galax alien bugs move independently and some are more dangerous than others. The purple ones, for instance, in the original game could do more sudden sideways swooping into you, as compared to others. A very good player I knew in the early 80s gave me a tip that I should take out the purple ones whenever possible.

I have enjoyed Galaga also over the years, but for me it never had as much character, just didn't seem as interesting to me somehow as Galaxian (I've never played Super Galaxian).

  21. thanks for sharing this. That was the first Roomshipshooter game i have seen after pong in 1980. This time was so fascinated to me. Also I remember ,friends told me there is a

store for electronic an there you can shot roomships on a TV with a Remote control. I never forget this days.

  22. Whoa what difficulty are you on? I've never seen a boss fly down with like 4 or 5 escorts so quickly in level 1!

  23. For me, Galaga is way easier. Also, Galaga is more fluid. I tried Galaxian but it plays too slow for me. So I just play Galaga and I enjoy it 🙂

  24. 25" would have been a monster back then!!!!!

I can remember the first time I saw a galaxian machine and remember thinking how amazing that attack pattern was!! HUGE jump from Space Invaders!

It was also one of the first games I got for the Commodore 64

  25. Can you correct conversion with a combination of voltages, mechanical alignment of the yoke magnets (neck of tube) and software please? ….as this is very "blue"

  26. Galaxian is currently 40 years old today!

Edit: there was a typo in the world galaxian

  27. Nice video – but just to say, this is a modified original Galaxian. You can tell this as the top row takes off to attack you. In the original, the yellow has only two red ones (max) attacking you.

  28. I did not know they made a 25".  Very Cool!  I grew up playing Galaxian everywhere.  I remember how Galaxian blew my mind in 1979.  All those colors and such immersive sound!  Once Awesome, Always Awesome.  I also think its mega cool how the Yellow Galaxian showed up later in Galaga, Pac-man, Pac-man Plus and Super Pac-man.  That Galaxian is mean as hell in Galaga.  He will come right at you with a vengeance.

  29. Totally jealous of you guys!!! Lol!! I love these old games so much, I can still sit and watch someone else play! Just like in arcade back in the day!!!

  30. Cuando tenía 6 ó 7 años de edad, yo disparaba y un cliente del bar manejaba el tanque…contamos más de 100 banderas, lo prometo. 🙏💖🙏

  31. Ahh, Galaxian. The game that created everyone’s least favorite Pac-Man bonus fruit in Smash Bros (besides the bell from Mappy)

  32. To me this was a great upgrade from Space Invaders. The color graphics looked great. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better Galaga comes out in 1981. Arcades in the 80's were so awesome!

  33. When you think back to 80's arcades the sounds the games made were so memorable. It's was so euphoric to walk into a loud arcade back in those days:)

  34. Sinister cause presents throw back 101 on YouTube

  35. Hey when you start that up does it show that usual start up grid

  36. Another favourite of mine was Moon Cresta. It’s also got one of those startup tunes you remember forever.

  37. Omg that music jingle at the beginning , brings back so many memories
